The VESS Model – Module Mastery, Academic Study Skills and Engagement

The VESS model is built on the premise that vocational student success depends on three interconnected elements module mastery (mastering the core knowledge/vocational skills), academic study skills (the skills needed to succeed in the higher education system), and engagement (with themselves as learners, the subject and the group). VESS provides a framework for embedding all three into your existing teaching, ensuring students develop both subject expertise and the broader capabilities they need to succeed.
