Outline:

This short course will focus on mapping out your scheme of work for the new academic year, using Musostudy – a model for student success. It will help you to consider your students’ learning needs, the TLAs you can use and how to adapt for online delivery.

Module mapping will help you to study the assessment requirements and the proposed scheme of work, in order to consider how best to implement it for your college, your students and yourself.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this CPD unit, you will be able to:

1. Reflect on and evaluate your students’ learning

You will be reviewing your teaching from last year considering knowledge learning, assessment mastery, student engagement and online considerations. This will aid your evaluation of your students’ learning needs.

2. Evaluate the current module

You will consider your module learning outcomes, scheme of work and assessment outcomes. You will be establishing the learning for the module, the assessment requirements and the skills and attributes students need. You will also be seeking areas where you can anticipate difficulties for students.

3. Design a module plan, considering students’ learning needs

Plan your approach to undertaking teaching your module this year, through identifying the assessment, engagement and study skills required as well as the knowledge and vocational skills required to successfully complete the module.
